|ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER||Franklin, TN.||$83K-$100K||Client is a national industrial mineral/aggregate heavy plant construction/operator firm. Reporting to the Corporate Environmental Director, the Environmental Manager will be based in Franklin TN area, overseeing the Companys multiple plant locations ranging from the Carolinas to Texas to Wisconsin including their manufacturing plant in Missouri. Travel could be in the 50-75% range.
Client is highly desirous of locating an environmental professional coming directly out of the mining, mineral and/or aggregates industries.
Knowledge of EPA and State specific Air Quality regulations that are required for typical sand mining operations including applicable regulations for Dry Plant fluid bed dryers, bag houses and other dry processes.
Knowledge of all applicable Air Quality emission control standards and site specific emission control BMPs including, unpaved road and paved road, drilling and blasting, storage piles, and dry plant operations BMPs.
Knowledge of site specific Storm Water Management Plans and the application of site specific BMPs used to control sediment loading in outfalls. Familiarity with sampling protocols and analysis of applicable laboratory results.
Knowledge of Hazardous waste collection regulations, proper manifesting/record keeping requirements and the ability to perform quarterly site specific field and paper work audits on the site specific management of various waste streams, including oils and grease, batteries and light ballasts.
Provide Quarterly SPCC Audits of separate sites. Provide training as it relates to proper fueling and spill response to New Hires and Contractors. Provide Annual SPCC refresher training to all site personnel.
Ability to conduct site specific Environmental Risk Assessments on an as needed basis. Ability to provide written recommendations of any adverse findings.
Ability to maintain relationships with existing Environmental Consultants currently used, State/Federal Regulators, and the ability to select additional Environmental Consultants.
Knowledge of groundwater monitoring protocols and applicable State and Federal groundwater standards.
Knowledge of Mine Safety & Health Operational procedures and Mine Safety Standards.
Knowledge of Phase 1 and Phase 2 Environmental Site Assessment ASTM Protocols and the ability to interpret Phase 1 and Phase 2 results.
Knowledge of RCRA, CERCLA, and SARA contaminated soil clean-up standards, and the ability to interpret analytical results as they pertain to these standards. Ability to recommend cost effective clean-up and disposal options from petroleum contaminated soil.
BS in Environmental Science/Engineering is highly preferred. Applicable and equivalent experience base may also be considered. Five (5) plus years experience is required.

Lead and manage all safety efforts at the plant as well as site planning, pit development, quality control and maintenance function. Supervise a workforce of approximately 100 employees. Ensure compliance with company mandated safety and environmental policies, programs and guidelines as well as regulatory compliance. Lead management team and group of employees and provide strong leadership, training, team building and supervision. Manage all mine planning, operational, financial, safety, environmental, personnel, and community relations duties at the mine in accordance with company programs, policies, and guidelines as well as government agencies including MSHA and the EPA.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (preferably Mining or Civil) or equivalent experience
Minimum of five years of plant management experience, preferably in the mining industry managing in a non-union environment

Assists to enhance the existing Total Safety Culture Program and Environmental guidelines to ensure employee safety and health.
